These two courses EDUC 203 (Facilitating Learning) and FS 203 (School as the Learning Environment) aim to
provide teachers and prospective teachers with a comprehensive understanding of
the foundational learning theories on the nature of learners and the cognitive,
personal, and external factors that interplay with the learning process. Drawn
from the psychology of learning and concepts in the social sciences, the topics
will also enable the students/teachers to reflect on their own thinking and
learning processes, learning styles, and individual attributes befitting of
facilitators of learning.
The Field Study component exposes the students to classroom situations that will validate the application of theories learned. It will also integrate personal beliefs and attitudes with teaching practices.
